ZeroGravity Games, Fayetteville, GA's Hot Spot for Retro Games

FAYETTEVILLE, GA — Zero Gravity Games

The city of Fayetteville is home to several noteworthy retail stores and businesses, including a Fayetteville-based video game store that specializes in retro games and consoles.

Zero Gravity Games, located at 535 Glynn Street, has been open at this location for three years. The company first entered the city approximately six years ago, said the company’s owner Ronnie.

The store focuses on the retro gaming market, going all the way back to Atari 2600 and the Nintendo Entertainment System. The store buys, trades, and sells video games from systems as old as Atari to newer systems like Playstation 4 and Xbox One. In addition, the store has arcade machines and pinball machines open for the public’s enjoyment.

I’ve always had a deep connection with arcade games, and always enjoyed them.” Said Ronnie, “I want people to be able to experience these games due to the arcade marketing not being as huge…

The company may have switched over owners in September 2018, but that hasn’t changed the dynamic of the team. In fact, the new owner Ronnie is a big fan of video games and loves sharing his knowledge of games with customers, young and old.

His store manager, Matt, has worked for the company for years and loves every minute.

We are centralized in video games and anything video game-related.” Said Matt, “we may not have a budget as big compared to other stores, but we take pride in centralizing our store around video games and welcoming all fans.

The company will continue its tradition of hosting game tournaments and events at their Fayetteville store. At least three events will be held per month, said Ronnie, adding that all the events are family-friendly and a safe space for kids to come and play to their heart’s content.

Also, Matt and Ronnie both agreed that brick and mortar stores provide something that online shops cannot, a space to connect with others while playing their favorite games. In addition, they provide repair services for the public if local collectors need their discs cleaned/resurfaced. Matt said, “we have disc cleaner machines so we have the ability to resurface our customers’ discs.”

When asked, what do they look forward to when they open the store every day, Matt said “We take pride in our customer service and the largest selection of games we have… Running a store is challenging and has its ups and downs, but we strive to make sure there’s inventory for new and retro games to serve all of our customers.”
